Bruce Damer is an Associate Researcher in Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz and founder of DigitalSpace Corporation developing mission simulations and designs for NASA.
He collaborated with David Deamer to develop an architecture for life's origins drawing from computer science and the chemistry of protocell formation and selection in wet-dry cycling hot spring systems. He recently led new efforts carrying out experiments at field sites such as Bumpass Hell and Yellowstone, USA, and Rotorua, New Zealand and is developing a book-length treatment and experimenter's guide of the Hot Spring Hypothesis article (Astrobiology, 2020) for the next generation of researchers.
